ARENA

Cool Insuring Arena is a state of the art 4,800 seat arena that not only houses the Adirondack Junior Thunder but is also home to the ECHL Adirondack Thunder professional team.  Cool Insuring Arena has a rich hockey and entertainment history with 6 professional teams calling the arena home since 1979.  The Adirondack Red Wings won 4 Calder Cups (AHL) over 20 years.  The arena has also been home to the Adirondack Ice Hawks and Adirondack Frostbite (UHL), Adirondack Phantoms (AHL), Adirondack Flames (AHL) and for the last 9 years the Adirondack Thunder (ECHL).

Other notable events hosted at Cool Insuring Arena over the years include Mike Tyson boxing matches, State Basketball and College Basketball games as well as numerous concerts featuring such artists as AC/DC, The Who, Billy Joel and many, many more.

BILLETING – Adirondack Junior Thunder team members are housed with billets families.  Part of our commitment to our players and their parents is to help provide them with good homes. We believe in the billet family experience and never house our players in dorm settings.  Many times, this is the first time a player is away from home, and we set our players in solid homes for the season.

SCHOOLING

The Adirondack Junior Thunder firmly believe in not only developing players on the ice but also off the ice.  The Junior Thunder have partnered with a College and High School so our players can attend in person classes while playing hockey if they choose.
